Hello Friends and Family, et al

I took Mary to the Dr. today to see what was wrong with the suction tube that was placed in her abdomen. It was not working correctly.

Ten minutes later I was on my way to the hospital to have Mary admitted. She is now fighting an infection that is in her abdominal area. The whole used for the stomach tube is now being used to drain the infection.

Without the stomach tube in, she still needed to drain stomach fluids, so a nose tube went back in. This was not a welcome event, to say the least. Obviously, this is a major disappointment. The Dr. the Nurse and I told her the same thing though.

She could have elected to come home, and I would have honored that request. She would not have been home for long, however. She knows this. Unlike the cancer that is invading her, this infection is curable and can be shut down effectively. This will make her far more comfortable than she has been recently. Already things have begun to improve as of this evening, when I left her room.

Please keep us in your thoughts.

 Love,

    Mark
